With a little love and care, a real Christmas tree can brighten your home for over a month!
If you're planning to pick up your lovely real Christmas tree in the first week of December, don't forget to trim a couple of inches off the bottom before placing it in water. This fresh cut will help your tree drink plenty of water to stay happy and hydrated. Depending on how big your tree is and the warmth of your home, it might sip up to 1 to 2 litres of water each day. So, be sure to check the water level daily and keep it topped up so the bottom of the trunk is always submerged. It’s also wise to keep your tree away from direct sunlight and heat sources like fireplaces and radiators, which can dry it out quite quickly.
If you have a potted tree, just follow the same tips and you'll be able to enjoy it for years! After Christmas, gently re-pot the tree into a larger pot and place it in a sheltered spot in your garden. This way, you can bring it inside and enjoy the festive cheer all over again next year!
